The result of liberalism and unionism???
Becoming governor next year will be a daunting challenge for California's Republican insurance commissioner, but Steve Poizner has surmounted other obstacles, as when he volunteered to teach without pay in an East San Jose high school. After he sold, for $1 billion, one of the technology companies he founded after moving to California from Texas, and after serving as a White House fellow, he walked into East San Jose's school district office, explained that he graduated No. 1 in his class at the University of Texas, earned a Stanford business degree, and now wanted to teach American government to high school seniors. A functionary declared: "Nothing you have said qualifies you to be in the classroom."

That's true for just about any Public School district. They will sometimes hire one as a Substitute if they don't have enough for all the "absent" teachers but they won't hire one permanently unless they have been properly "brainwashed" to respect authority and "do-as-they-do" of any and all older tenured teachers and administrators. Adhering to "policy" is of utmost importance.

Re: The result of liberalism and unionism???
I think the thing that really stuck out for me was the fact that California has 600,000 non teaching employees in their public school system.
That and the fact that "Democrats blocked allowing online enrollment by parents of their children in state health programs because it might have endangered unionized clerical jobs."
What I really wonder is how much northern Californians resent southern Californians. I can see an attack on the San Andreas fault with the hope of beach front property in Arizona.

Re: The result of liberalism and unionism???
California - another Socialistic liberal Democrat controlled State Legislature - rampant with "troughfeeders" - public employee entitlements galore - horrendous budget deficits - with the capitalist corporations now moving out to the south and east leaving the "troughfeeders" to fund their own "wants & demands".
