Abortion To Be Performed On One-Year-Old Girl

Stunned doctors have discovered a one-year-old girl carrying a baby in her stomach.
Kang Mengru, from China, left medics baffled after her belly became enlarged.
Doctors carried out a CT scan to discover the cause of the growth and found a fetus inside her. They believe it is her parasitic twin.
Mengru is now waiting for an operation to have the fetus removed.
Why is it that only in rare cases such as this that a fetus is called a "parasite" and its surgical abortion from its host called an "operation"?
