The Transplant Has a Question

Post by Stephanie on Mon Aug 24, 2009 9:08 am

Could someone explain to me why this creep wasn't arrested at the scene? How can it be it took two weeks for an arrest warrant to be issued?

Man allegedly hit woman with broom over watermelon

MARMET, W.Va. -- Police are looking for a Marmet man accused of striking his girlfriend with a broom after an argument over a broken watermelon.

Marmet police were dispatched Aug. 3 to an assault in progress at a Maryland Avenue home after a concerned neighbor reported a man beating a woman with a broomstick, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.

Amber Alderson told officers after they arrived that she had been at the Maryland Avenue home of her boyfriend, identified as 28-year-old Scot Lowe, and that her child had been playing in the yard with his children, the complaint said.

Alderson told officers that a watermelon in Lowe's garden had been broken while the children were playing and that her child was blamed for the cracked fruit, the complaint said.

The woman said Lowe got angry, getting a lawnmower and mowing over the entire garden, according to the complaint.

The couple then got into an argument and Alderson asked Lowe to drive her and her child to her 98th Street home, police said. When she got home, however, she realized she'd forgotten her purse at Lowe's home and had him take her back to get it, according to the complaint.

Back at his house, Lowe started yelling at Alderson, then allegedly picked up a broomstick and struck Alderson repeatedly on her arms, legs and sides, the complaint said.

Lowe stopped the alleged assault when officers arrived at the house, police said. Alderson suffered deep bruising and scrapes to her arms, legs, sides and back and was treated and released from Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital, police said.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Lowe on Aug. 17. He faces charges of domestic battery.

If the police there are like the police here, they cna't get out of the doughnut shop fast enough to make an arrest. Moreover, they have such a sugar fix they can't tell the guilty from the victim.

Lowe stopped the alleged assault when officers arrived at the house, police said.

They didn't have to chase him, Cato. He was on the scene when police arrived!

He was most likely a "police informant" on illegal drugs sales, etc.

From what I've heard from eye witnesses, the police seldom if ever arrest them no matter what they see them doing.

Better switch to the old razor strap...

Stephanie, I'm sure you will be glad to hear that the Charleston Police are showing an improvement in performing their duties, to wit:

August 28, 2009 - Charleston man charged with throwing, killing kitten

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man was arrested Friday for throwing a kitten about 60 feet, killing it, a criminal complaint alleges.

Robert Stephenson, 25, was charged with the misdemeanor offense of animal cruelty after he tossed the kitten between himself and several friends on Aug. 2, then threw the kitten from the edge of his yard, according to the criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

The incident allegedly happened while Stephenson was drinking in front of his Red Oak Street apartment, according to the complaint.

Stephenson was released Friday on a $2,500 cash bond.

There were several hundred squirrels and rabbits that would have agreed with you about that concerning me, Stephanie.

Years ago, two or so weeks out of every year I would get into a "serial killing streak", sometimes killing 5 or 6 per day.

Now by durn there were quite a few I had to beat severly about the head to get them to die. And then there were those I had trapped in a knothole of a tree or in a hollow log that took quite a while to torture them out.

I member taking a squirrel home I thought was dead, but he wasn't. I put him in an open box on a closed-in porch off the kichen just to see iffen he was gonna make it because he looke pretty dauncy and immobile at the time.

Next morning him was dead, bout 1/4 ready to eat, too. But Mom wasn't happy about it.

Seems as though that squirrel recovered a bit, clumb outta dat box, crawed over behind Mom's Maytag washing machine and proceeded to knawl a hole through the hot water hose to the washer and scalded itself to death.

Shidt happens.

Did you torture and kill animals to satisfy some twisted desire, or did you kill them to eat them?
