The so-called environmentalists never seem to realize that sending jobs away from the United States due to overregulation will have a net negative effect on both the US economy AND the environment

OH, they know, they just don't care so long as they get their government grants to keep on stirring the hysteria. Of Course the politicians jusdt follow right along like good little doggies following a bone, except the politicians are following votes.

You know...I think that you are right! Who did that Obama official say was her two favorite philosophers? Mao and Mother Teresa...right? Mao was from China. Mother Teresa was from India. Right? What two countries are exempt from the global "don't pee in the pool"-protocol? I, TERRY MASON, REST MY CASE!!

One does wonder how many American jobs, especially union ones, have to be lost before the unions will realize that they are acting in a self-defeating manner. It becomes obvious that union leadership cares about itself rather than on protecting jobs of union members.

Down this way there is a teacher's strike that is about a month old, and so far the only losers are the teachers. Apparently the union organizer makes a living out of encouraging strikes, but this one isn't having the desired effect....

Perhaps the environmentalists in political power know that their actions will have a deleterious effect and do not care; however, I think the rank and file environmentalists really do not realize that their own actions will end up harming the environment and American jobs. I think they really do not understand the concept of a China and an India that will have even worse environmental policies than the United States that will also not give a rats arse what the environmentalists think about that.

You'll need to go a long ways to convience me that the rank and file environmentalist his/her actions will end up hurting American jobs and the environment.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that environmenal regulation here is among the toughest on earth, not to mention the costliest. Additionally, one doesn't need to have a Ph. d. to understand that when products can be manufactured cheaper overseas, i.e. China or India, that is where products are goingt obe manufactured. China and India haven't hobbled themselves with therules and regulations we have, including environmental regulation. The only thing that is accomplished is moivng the sourse of pollution from here to there.

Yea, they understand that. There is no question in my mind to that affect. The only thing however, they care about is receiving their government grants so they can produce more studies to convience the politicians, who are the real blockheads in the affair, to create more regulation.

Simple - no trade with countries that do not have standards for worker safety and environmental health as high as ours.

That should stimulate some local jobs.
