If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn`t buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy. A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.......Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed. If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor; then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

I am a conservative, believe that gay activity is evil, and have never tried to ban gay activity. I also believe that lying is evil, and have never sought to make dishonesty a crime (except in cases of perjury), I have also never sought to make covetousness or the dishonoring of parents criminal, either.

Of course, you are likely looking at Deuteronomy, and perhaps can give me an example of a political party looking to reestablish the Deuteronomic code in American jurisprudence?

The only activity that I have tied to ban is gay "marriage"--a desired union that makes homosexuals think that they act almost like normal.

I can't find one post on here that the poster has called for a ban on homosexual activities. Like Keli I believe homosexuality to be evil and the ones practicing homosexuality to be condemned. However, I don't seek to ban a person from being a homosexual and if they choose to marry that is a call between the state and them. If a person chooses to practice homosexuality, it is their choice and they must ulitmately faces the consequences of thier choice. I however, want no part of their perverted lifestyle nor will I in any way do anything that condones what they do, up to and including renting or selling a home to a homosexual couple. I will not support any amandement or law that recognizes homosexual marriage nor will I support any politican who chooses to support the recognition of homosexaul marriage. Just as the homosexual community has the right to support what they choose, I have the right to support what I believe.

Normal. Is that like Palin's telling the christian conservative salt-of-the-earth that they are the "real Americans"?

Hubris to think that your way of life is the only "normal" way.

What I don't understand is why there isn't a well organized effort by people of faith in this country to get the government out of the business of marriage. It doesn't belong there to begin with.
