"Truth to Power"? Or Power to truth?

Post by ohio county on Thu Oct 29, 2009 7:37 pm

When you are the most powerful man in the world is it a mistake to suggest you might be speaking "truth to power"? That is what Valerie Jarrett suggested in an interview with CNN's Campbell Brown:

Jarrett: That's actually not true. I think that what the administration has said very clearly is that we're going to speak truth to power.

Would it not be more accurate to suggest that the White House is seeking to bully FOX News?

You betcha.

They controlled everything the media said or printed pre-election except the Fox media. ...... and still do. And now they are trying to use their newly acquired power to force Fox News to get in line and do likewise.

I forsee a "trumpted up" attack threatening Fox's FCC License.

I saw that John Stewart on the Daily Show actually spoke up for FOX (at least by noting that MSNBC is just as biased). If these Dems make FOX any kind of martyr or cause celebre, they are going to be unmasked for the statists that they are across the board and, God willing, the public will pummel them in November of 2010 and 2012. If they don't, then frankly this country deserves what it will get.

What's truly disturbing is just that this administration is trying to bully Fox News.....it is that they are working so hard to silence any dissent from anyone and everyone from news outlets to the US Senate to housewives. I find that quite chilling.

I agree-it does not matter who is trying to be silenced, the act itself is chilling

To silence the masses, one must take away their guns and their communication media.

The Internet is clearly in the "sights" of the Obamaites.

Their first act will be to mandate "filters" on all IP Servers that will reject transmission of any verbiage deem non-PC.
