Re: I hate the Cubs
The season is still young. They still have plenty of time to implode.
Although, their last title was in 1908...

Re: I hate the Cubs
I'd rather have a sister in the whorehouse than a brother that is a Cubs fan.

Re: I hate the Cubs
If I may share my pathology with this one.
When I was a young lad there were no lights at Wrigley Field, so the games were at 105 or 120. The crowd, mostly playing hookey from work as carpenters and plumbers, drank Old Style beer and often had their bodies painted. Harry Caray (the announcer) would do games sometimes from the bleachers, that were 5 bucks or so. The rooftops around the Park were populated by people who either lived in the buildings or were guests of them.
Then they put lights on. No worries, most of the games were still during the day. They were also on Channel 9, so anyone in town could watch them.
Then they went to Cable, so not everyone in town could watch them.
Then they put an LCD display underneath the vintage scoreboard.
Then they put "Under Amour" ads on the walls between the ivy.
Then I began to root for the Brewers.
The Cubs are a mockery of themselves. Everything that used to make them "loveable" is gone, they could at least do us the justice of sucking like they used to.

The old Comiskey was good, before the corporations ruined it. I liked the old Chicago stadium too.

Re: I hate the Cubs
I've got a couple of guys that work for me that are Yankee fans. One went the weekend of July 4th as to attend the final season at the old Yankee season.
I predicted to them that with Steinbrenner tearing down the house that Ruth built, the Yankess will head into a 'drought' the likes of which the teams like the Cubs and the Red Sox fans know plenty about.
They seem to think I'm out of my mind. As I told them, time will tell.
