Shouldn’t they be saved from the eternal fires of Hell?

Post by SamCogar on Fri May 30, 2008 6:44 am

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — One of Brazil's last uncontacted Indian tribes has been spotted in the far western Amazon jungle near the Peruvian border, the National Indian Foundation said Thursday.

The Indians were sighted in an Ethno-Environmental Protected Area along the Envira River in flights over remote Acre state, said the Brazilian government foundation, known as Funai.

Funai said it photographed "strong and healthy" warriors, six huts and a large planted area. But it was not known to which tribe they belonged, the group said.

"Four distinct isolated peoples exist in this region, whom we have accompanied for 20 years," Funai expert Jose Carlos Meirelles Junior said in a statement.

The tribe sighted recently is one of the last not to be contacted by officials. Funai does not make contact with such tribes Indians and prevents invasions of their land to ensure their autonomy, the foundation said.

Survival International said the Indians are in danger from illegal logging in Peru, which is driving tribes over the border and could lead to conflict with the estimated 500 uncontacted Indians now living on the Brazilian side.

There are more than 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, most of them in Brazil and Peru, the group said in a statement.

"These pictures are further evidence that uncontacted tribes really do exist," Survival director Stephen Corry said.

"The world needs to wake up to this, and ensure that their territory is protected in accordance with international law. Otherwise, they will soon be made extinct."

Sam,
Your concern for the lost is commendable. I never took you for an evangelical! However, please consider the following:

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Although God condemns and will punish sin, He loves the sinner... If anyone will respond to the light given them, God will lead them to Christ.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Until we meet again and the cass is sol-ved

Well now Armon, you are gonna hafta ta do sum splainin of your quoted text, primarly dis part of yur text, to wit:

....... for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, ...

Now Armon, if we assume for a moment that your God did "make everything" of this world, ...... then yes, ..... I will agree, ..... those folks there in the jungles of South America can clearly see part of the stuff your God made.

But now you will hafta splain to me, ....... 1) just how those folks can clearly understand that it was your God that did all "the making", ....... and 2) just when and how did they "know your God" .......... and 3) if you can not provide Biblical answers to those two qweries, ........ then how can your Bible condem them, accepting no excuses for their ignorance?

Ps Armon, just how do yo reconcile and justify the above Biblical text ........ with the Biblical, ..... Christian, ..... teaching of the requirement and necessity of Missionary Work? affraid affraid affraid

Now Armon, if your "God hath shewed it unto them" ....... and all of them hath "clearly seen" ..... and "understood" ...... what they clearly seen, ........ just why in the hell has Christianity been pulling that "Missionary and Accepting Jesus Christ" scam for nigh on the past 2,000 years?

The Jesuits did it, the Spanish did it, the English did it, etc., ........ it seems like everyone wanted a "few piece$ of the action". Razz Razz Razz Razz

Course now, said actions shouldn't really surprise anyone, ....... it has always required many, many silver and gold piece$ to build those monstrous edifices for appeasing and flattering the egos of the Leaders of the Christian Religion.

St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, Italy (the biggest of the big)

Cathedral of St. John, NYC (just too big to take a picture of)

The National Cathedral, Washington, DC is only the 6th largest cathedral in the world.

cheers cheers cheers

Hi Sam.

My church meets in a former Knights of Columbus hall. I bet that Terry's church is not an edifice like the above. I would also call your attention to the fact that such buildings are very commonly Catholic and Episcopal rather than Southern Baptist or Free Methodist.

As to the question of evangelization, yes, people need to hear of the love of Jesus. Also Luke 12:47 needs to be kept in consideration.

"That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."
