rival.com ranks WV's recruit class at #44.

I noticed they have Pitt ranked at #29 but the only difference is Pitt got a WR with a five star rating.

WV has traditionally not had high rankings in terms of recruiting. RR was never in the top 20 when he was here. He had two 4 star recruits. One busted, Jason Gwatney, and the other, Noel Divine, time will tell.

Josh Jenkins is as big a recruit as either of those two. I think Doc Holiday will do wonders for WVU. Personally, I would have liked for Stew to have hired Herb Hand as his OC and his recruiting combined with Doc's may have taken them in the top 20 but that's all hindsight now.

I like what Don Nehlen used to say. We take a bunch of kids no one else wanted, work with them and mold them, and turn out darned good football players.

Well this is one observor's opinion.

He seems to think Stewart cant measure up to the Rodriguez team in recruiting/

Especially in Fl.

So we will see.

Wont be long either.

I didn't see that in the article Sherm. I did see where he thought WVU had enough talent left over from RR to win the Big East and play in another BCS bowl this year.

Saying that, I think this staff will recruit just as well as RR's did, which given how WVU got some of the talent they did, might not be as hard as one thinks.

Pat White came to WVU after verbally committing to LSU but they wanted him as a DB. Herb Hand (left two years ago to Tulsa) sold him on playing QB for WVU.

Steve Slaton came AFTER Maryland pulled his offer. He would have been a Terp had Friedgen not FUBAR'ed the situation.

Most of the linemen were considered too small to play big time football but they fit the spread perfectly.

The two biggest recruits are shrouded in controversy. Jason Gwatney came because his half brother (Scooter Berry) was here and there's still back room whispers made about Noel Divine, who most of the Fl schools cooled on when he had difficulty making his test score.

Other then those recruits, most of RR's were 3 star recruits that panned out and most other D1 schools cast aside.

Doc Holiday had a major coup when he got Josh Jenkins out of Parkersburg to re-commit after RR left. There's also talk of heavily recruited backs and QB's out of both VA and FL coming to WVU next year. I think this staff will do just fine.
