As a Christian, I am often asked why bad things happen to good people. I would say that there are no good people.

Sometimes, however, bad things happen to bad people. Rich Rodriguez is a boil on the ass of humanity and it's hard not to feel a little shadenfreude at this disaster:

No good people compared to what? What is your standard for "good people", or "no good people"?

"Good" and "no good" have no meanings other than by some criteria whereby we can compare "good" with "no good".

This is sports Frank, a santuary from your war on religion. Save it for the religion or political forum where it applies.

There's no place in sports for religion. Not even Notre Dame football and they have touchdown Jesus.

I don't know if I'm mellow in my old age or if it's because I never cared for RR Mike, but I'm glad he's gone. Yes, he was a good offensive coach but I would have never wanted my kids playing for him because he's a bad person, plain and simple. Everything he was DEMANDING at WVU would have gotten them in trouble somewhere down the road with the NCAA and WVU's better off without him.

Yes, he ended Michigan's bowl streak but a win over OSU would wipe that all away. In the end though, he will be successful at Michigan as they care more about winning then they do winning the right way there, so RR fits in perfectly.

He'll get the kids he needs to win ball games, probably as early as next year as he gets a jump on recruiting since he don't have to worry about practicing for the low level bowl game 6-5 teams qualify and he will win ball games.

Given that he's in the Big 11 where they have 2 or 3 decent teams and a bunch that would have trouble winning the Mac East, he'll win 10/11 ball games every year and play in major bowl games, either the NC or the Rose, Michigan fans will love him and all will be well.

Until someone at OSU gets tired of seeing Big Blue successful and points the NCAA to all of RR's and UM’s recruiting violations and then he'll be gone in shame and disgust.

And West Virginians will say it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Tell that to Mike. He's the one who, as a Christian, brought "no good" people into this.

And Mike can say that just as a team can say a prayer before a game. But there is not room for your hatred for religion in sports. It's against the rules.

There is as much room for challenges to religion as there is room for religion.

In the religion room.

Not in the sports room.

Do you have any thoughts on RR, Michigan or WVU?

If not, move on.

I am horrified by WVU's recent loss, by the way. If you do end up moving to Cincy, Aaron, be sure to break a few windows.

Does anyone else have the nagging suspicion that there may yet be a coaching change at wvu after the season?

I took it as divine intervention that it is meant for me to move to Cincinnati.

I doubt it Sherman, unless Bill steps down. I say that have to at least give him 3 years and see how he does recruiting.

Well he reportedly is such a nice guy all it would take is a hint from the Administration he should step down and he would do it.

Then he's an idiot, has no confidence in his abilities and has nor never had any business in even being considered for the head coaching positon of an average high school, least yet a major division 1 college football program.

At least that's how I see it.
