THE TEN SUGGESTIONS? Empty THE TEN SUGGESTIONS?

Post by Keli Mon May 16, 2011 8:16 pm

To the Editor:

The Presbyterian Church USA has opened the door for ordaining gay ministers, deacons and elders. The church’s constitution used to have a requirement for its leaders to “live either in fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman or chastity in singleness." However, recently the PCUSA has dropped that stipulation and now nebulously requires church leaders “submit joyfully to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all aspects of life”--whatever that means!

In doing this the PCUSA contradicts the Bible's clear teaching that marriage is between one man and one woman: i.e. Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve (Genesis 2:24), its own definition of marriage in its worship book as being between one man and one woman and okays sex outside of marriage. If that is so, then is it okay for heterosexuals, as well. Right?

What is next? Changing the Ten Commandments to the Ten Suggestions?

The under 40 generation has been nurtured to be adament believers and supporters of the Religion of Political Correctnes ......... and I fear you are just "spinning you wheels" in any attempts of trying to prevent PCism from drowning out the "Voice of Christianity".

Being Politically Correct earns one Great Rewards ....... here and now.

Christianity only promises one Great Rewards ....... in the hereafter.

PCism is now employing what the Christian Church once employed to recruit and maintain their "flocks of believers", ....... harassment, shunning and demagoguery.

Keli,

It is somewhat unlikely that the Presbyterian Church USA is going to be relevant for much longer. I hope that folks now bolt in large numbers.

The denomination clearly does not care what the Bible says, but rather what they think it should have said. The church of my youth travelled the same path, and they cannot stop the hemmoraging of churches and members.
