Hostess Brands - the maker of Twinkies, Wonder Bread and other household-name products - said it would seek this week to liquidate the company unless enough workers stopped striking by the end of the workday on Thursday to allow the company to resume normal operations.

The company, which has about 18,000 employees, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January.

Sam this one hits close to home. When I was growing up, Hostess had a plant very close to my grade school and we took a tour and reaped a serious harvest of goodies. Probably one of the happiest days of my young life at the time.

I don't think the unions get that in this economy the businesses, ironically, have all of the cards. The unions overplay their hands as it is, but they got nothing, and I wonder how many corporations are going to go bankrupt and then reorganize, or simply buy each other, or move operations, before the unions realize this.

I volunteer at a homeless shelter which is building onto an existing building. As it is not using union labor THEY ARE PROTESTING THE HOMELESS SHELTER. Jerks.
