Why Education and Health Care is EXPENSIVE

Post by SamCogar on Sat Nov 15, 2014 6:16 am

Full-time MIT professors are paid big salaries, retirement and many entitlements.

But apparently part-time work is needed to supplement their income.

(the following was excerpted from:  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/11/14/despite-dem-claims-trash-talking-gruber-was-well-paid-adviser-for-obamacare-and/?intcmp=latestnews  )

Despite Dem claims, trash-talking Gruber was well-paid adviser for ...”

Jonathan Gruber, an MIT professor and economist, has lived amid the health care debate in Washington for at least 20 years.

A look at the record shows he (Gruber) was in fact paid, ………..

1. paid by Department of Health and Human Services in 2009 on a $297,600 contract

2. was paid another $95,000 before that, for a total of nearly $400,000.

3. spent a good deal of time testifying on the Hill and in meetings at the White House

4. similar contracts for health care, working six-figure deals with multiple states

5. helped design  system in Massachusetts, “RomneyCare” – amount paid ????

6. Minnesota paid him nearly $330,000 for health care work

7. was hired by Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin for $400,000

8. a 2012 contract from Michigan offered $481 million for health care analysis

9. In 2011, he published a graphic novel, “Health Care Reform: What It Is, Why It’s Necessary, How It Works,”

Makes ya wunder when Gruber had any time for doing his professoring job at MIT.

Political "payback" or "payoff" of that nature is .... perfectly legal.

Lucritive "contracts" and election fund "donators" are like two peas in a pod.
