Pet notions- the path of least resistance
The path of least resistance and least trouble is a mental rut already made. It requires troublesome work to undertake the alternation of old beliefs. Self-conceit often regards it as a sign of weakness to admit that a belief to which we have once committed ourselves is wrong. We get so identified with an idea that it is literally a "pet" notion and we rise to its defense and stop our eyes and ears to anything different.- John Dewey

I think you miss Ziggy's point, but it is probably best:)
What is going on there is the argument that people do not want to question their beliefs. This is especially true of atheists and democrats.

I agree with Mike. I think you gents have missed Ziggy's point. What surprises me is not so much that Keli or Sam didn't "get" it, but that neither of them did.

AAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH, ........ GOOD GRIEF.
It wasn't Ziggy's point that TH and I missed.
It was you two who missed "the point" of TH's and my posts.
If there was ever a Poster on this Forum that shouldn't have posted this comment, here is one (1) of the two (2), to wit:

So Sam does not disagree with what I posted?
So does his commentary reflect that he is just pissed that he can't find an opening to attack it with his "Devil's advocate" logic-in-reverse?
