I use to pay "BIG buck$" for those Wallabys, made from kangaroo hide, because they were the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
And they had a crepe sole that wouldn't easily slip on icy walkways.

I don't think one's shoes are windows to his soul. Commiserating on the price of arugula while wearing Ferragamo's? Maybe...
