Well I usually don't watch these so-called "debates".

But tonite I broke down and watched about half of it.

McCain came across as ebenezer scrooge to me.

I have been watching the CNN analysis and it looks like about everyone agrees.

McCain could not make a good case for his rightwing positions so just decided to make personal attacks.

(Pretty much the way it goes here on the forum actually).

Just like President Bush he is getting bad advice.

The 25 or 30 % that are rightwing wackos just eat it up when they start the personal attacks.

But no one else does.

Well OC if interested check this out and you will see I am not the only one to get that impression.

The only people who are not turned off by his personal attacks on Obama are the hardcore 25 or 30 % who are not going to vote democrat anyway.

No offense Sherm, but I beg to differ with you on this statement. You ignoring post does not mean there are those not making a case. If anything, I would say there are those on the right that go above and beyond yet you continue to ignore them and when questioned, you fail to respond.

sherm, if I go to Larry King Live Blogs and somebody checks my machine, they'll think I'm gay. I don't disagree that a solid majority of the viewing audience found Obama the winner. I think it's reminiscent of Nixon/Kennedy in 1960 though. Obama has a more relaxed and commanding presence - no substance just appearance.

I believe that McCain's questioning Obama's judgment in his relationships with ACORN and Bill Ayres are quite legitimate. Mr. Ayres is an unrepentant terrorist who plotted to kill American servicemen. ACORN was founded to expand welfare rights. I think both relationships are salient and I'd like to know more about them. If that's negative, so be it.

I personally would have liked to see McCain link Obama to both Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, both of whom make GWB look like Jeb Bartlett, at least imho.

And not only last night, but for the entire election season. George Snuffleupagus said that it's too late for McCain to try and define Obama. I don't think so. I think he needs to go hard core and compare show how he's nothing more then the ultra left's puppet master, the Great Orator who will do exactly what sister Nan and dingy Harry tell him to do.

And on that note, I have been scheduled for a week of training on ways to combat card check. As bad as our policies and taxes are toward business, I think it's a drop in the bucket when compared to what's coming.

And the thing is, I posted on the Gazette the truth about why unions support Obama and Barth, and not one person addressed it.

This is a scheme cooked up by unions and other then some CEO's and HR people, no one seems to know or care about it. Considering a business will be mandated to abide by a judges ruling if an agreement can not be reached for 2 years, it's really sad that more is not known about it or that John McCain didn't mention it once in 3 debates.
