Well, of course, we need the Fairness Doctrine reinstated - the liberals cannot compete in the marketplace of ideas. And let's not give people a chance to express their opinions about it - too risky. Let's just institute it and make it a fait accompli and just say, "Deal with it." Its the only way liberals have a prayer of convincing anybody - by limiting free speech.

I guess the Fairness Doctrine will work alot like hate crime laws, geared to meet the needs and preceptions of the left. The Fairness Doctrine illustrates just how pathetic the left is. As was pointed out in the market of ideas they have none. Their only hope is to act like the parsites they are and leach their way into what another has worked for and created.

Newt said on Hannity yesterday that of course Congress would try and pass the fairness doctrine because the one thing liberals couldn't stand up to was the truth.

What's sad is liberals will stay away from this topic like it's the black plague.

This is nothing more then an attempt by those on the left to silence government criticism and I don't know that it will fly. In the original decision, the court ruled that equal time had to be given to opposing views. With the addition of satellite radio and the internet, how does the left not have equal time?

Is it the right's fault that their mouthpieces are more popular then the left?

I'm really interested in what Sherman in particular thinks about this issue.

Given that the our right to criticize the government is a fundamental right, should Rush, Hannity and the rest of the right be silenced?
