Transparency in Government? Empty Transparency in Government?

Well, sure, Obama said that but, darn it, you can't expect unions to comply with these onerous regulations that require them to actually keep records!

Don't worry about it, Jimmy. Union officials are all about the little guy. There's no need for transparency because these people are honest as the day is long, salt of the Earth and saviors of the working class.

Well, I'm sure they will be honest once they get out of receivership and finish their prison sentences. But as long as they keep the cash coming it won't make any difference now, will it?

And this is why Unions keep supporting democrats. It's a shame because the democratic party abandoned actual union workers years ago.

I wonder how much longer it will take the worker to realize that?

What's it like 8 decades of Democrat control in the WV legislature and WV'ians haven't figured it out? Don't hold your breath, Aaron.

But the march to the far left by the democratic party isn't 80 years old. It's closer to 30 at the most. I've talked to more then a few union members that are getting fed up.

And the fact that Massey can operate so many non-union mines is the perfect example of that. It's only a matter of time, both here in WV and nationally. Members aren't stupid as they know that democrats are giving their money away for liberal causes they don't approve of and that harm them where it hurts most, in their taxes.

Nationally, if the Republican party could find some way to help the UAW during this mess with the big 3, I think you would start to see a dramatic shift in how Unions start to vote.

Yes, but looking on the bright side since Obama gave 35% of GM to the UAW, you can go on down to your Buick dealer, buy a car, join the AFL-CIO, and register to vote democrat all at the same time.

I'll concede that point to you OC.

I would say that that the only way GM survives is at the tit of the government and sooner or later conservatives will once again gain the majority in Washington and that tit will dry up but I honestly don't know if that would happen or not.

I'm to the point that if a good job opened in another country, I would consider going. I don't like the direction this one is taking.
