And another reason... Faith-Based Double Standards (linky clicky)

See. It isn't hard to find REAL issues to beard the President about and it makes conservatives look less whack-a-doo.

So GWB wanted to use faith based initiatives to help needy people and he's lambasted in the media whereas BHO is using it to promote his political agenda and little to nothing is said.

Liberals purchased this election with the aid of the media and labor, they're repaying labor through health care (Jimmy pointed that out but I didn't see a comment from you), the media is still giving him a free pass and you're calling conservatives (a term you once used to describe yourself) whack-a-do.

Please.

As for the story, I'm not the least bit surprised. As the story pointed out, Obama is using religion to his benefit, which unlike how President Bush used faith based initiatives, IS unconstitutional. You would think as a constitutional lawyer he would know that.

To Terry's credit, he IS calling out BO here.

To his demerit, he is presuming upon us the ability to tell us exactly WHY we should be pissed at Obama.

We're religion not involved and had Obama called on school teachers or shop formen to sound off on uinversal health care, we wouldn't have heard a peep out of Terry on this one.

What? I can't quite translate that sentence.

So even when I criticize Obama, I'm still a member of his cult.

To his demerit, he is presuming upon us the ability to tell us exactly WHY we should be pissed at Obama.

I thought it obvious. He is a hypocrite.

I can't win, here. None of you are interested in actual debate. you just want to beat up on "liburrals".

I think my time may be better spent elsewhere.

You don't debate Terry. That requires back and forth and the willingness to take a look at the opposite view. You state your view in an authoritative manner and those who disagree with you are wrong. When it continues, you get personal.

You also think you're better then everyone else here because you perceive yourself smarter then the rest of us. On some things you are but two of them aren’t politics and the constitution. Sam's figured you out and you can't stand him for it.

As for this subject, sheik is right, you did criticize the President. My point is, you’re criticizing the fact that he continues to use the faith based initiative, not the message he was trying to convey.

My point is that when he did the same thing in his speech to our students, you didn’t have a problem with that. In fact, you told essentially I was making a mountain out of a molehill.

You want to pick and choose for US what we should be criticizing him for and I’m sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

If you can’t deal with that and as a result, want to take your ball and run away, it was nice meeting you.

Did you watch the speech? It wasn't as political as those of Reagan's.

Obama is using, as tools, the very things he criticized as a candidate.

You want to pick and choose for US what we should be criticizing him for and I’m sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

No. I don't.

When you go after him for being a sekret mooslim or cry about minor, non-issue things (like the socialist school speech that wasn't) I am merely pointing out that you all look like hysterical schoolgirls.

There are plenty of REAL problems to point out concerning this President.

Hey, though. If you all want to look hysterical, it is a free country. I don't think the majority of people are going to take you seriously, however.

I've never went after him for his religion Terry, I don't like him because he's a modern day Marxist.

And as I never condoned Reagan's or Bush's speech, I'm not going to set back and accept that Obama's was nothing when I know better. When he specifically addresses our students and 'urges' them to take ownership of health care and then gets on television a few days later and says the government is the solution he is telling our students that government is the solution for health care.

You may accept that. I don't and I'm not going to fall in line and be a good little soldier. The left wing of the Democratic Party is destroying America and I for one won't accept it. And if that means that someone like you thinks I look like a hysterical schoolgirl then so be it.

TerryRC,

Has a single person on this forum mentioned not voting for Obama because of the whole Muslim thing? Maybe one or two folks here believe he is a Muslim (maybe) and that had no bearing on their support (or lack thereof).

I don't care for Obama's abortion support, socialism, or lily-livered foreign policy. He could be a Southern Baptist for all I care.

The two primary reasons I didn't vote for Obama, his cultural history and his early nurturing in a Muslim environment.

Obama's long time association with that radical Preacher was proof enough for me of the two aforementioned reasons.

Like the ole saying goes, .......

"You can take the boy out of the Country,

but you can't take the Country out of the boy

Sam,

Would you have voted for someone with Obama's policies with a different cultural background and upbringing?

NO ..................

I was wanting Ron Paul and going for Romney as a 2nd.

But then Palin came on the scene and I voted for her, but I would have voted for McCain anyway just to cancel out 1 of Obama's votes.

Palin did make McCain more palatable, but in the end I voted for Baldwin. Of course, I live in Illinois where the people love Obama (and Daley and other politicians who do nothing for us, for some weird reason). I think this whole darned state is co-dependent.

I had a acquaintance from the Heyworth are Mike who thought it would be best for not only IL but also WI and IN if Chicagoland became a state of it's own. I also know a guy in Batavia, NY who said the same thing about NY and NY if NYC did the same. Do you hear thoughts like that downstate often?

I didn't vote for Barack Obama because he is a socialist. His race, religion, culture, questions surrounding his nation of birth, and the time he spent overseas as a child had nothing to do with it. I don't vote for socialists.
