The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of
entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit
and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary
common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a
man for their president."

"The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a
mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should
not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool.
It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made
him their president.

This came to me in an e-mail. It is appearing on all manner of discussion boards and allegedly came from the Czech Republic.

Though the author of the following passage is unknown, it has been quoted as part of a speech given in 1943 by American Industrialist H.W. Prentis though much of what he said has been attributed to late 18th Century writer Andrew Fraser Tytler. Regardless of who or when it was said, it certainly seems prophetic now in relation to the situation we currently find ourselves in…

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

· From bondage to spiritual faith;
· From spiritual faith to great courage;
· From courage to liberty;
· From liberty to abundance;
· From abundance to complacency;
· From complacency to apathy;
· From apathy to dependence;
· From dependence back into bondage.

Hi OC,

Whoever the source of your quote is, he/she is quite correct. Disasters like Obamas do not come out of nowhere, the people of the country wanted him.

In the German elections of 1932, the Nazis came in first and the German Communists came in 2nd. The Germans under Weimar were a, frankly, contemptible and dependent brood, easily manipulated by people who did not have their best interests at heart.

Now of course Obama is not a Hitler, which is the point. The same kind of idiots that elect a fool can elect a demon.

And I replied the last time you posted - -

Ayn Rand hit the nail on the head regarding ideal government in my opinion. She envisioned government as providing a defence from foreign threats to liberty, the police to protect from domestic threats liberty, and a court system where disputes were settled based on objective laws and criminals faced their accusers and were judged again based on objective law. That is her vision of the whole of government.

The only way Ayn Rand's or Mr. Spencer's vision of government can exist is that people stay out of each other's business and adopt a live and let live attitude. All one has to do to see that this isn't going to happen is look over the posts on this board.
