Absorb it? Why not avoid it?
Barack Obama To Bob Woodward This Past July: "We can absorb a terrorist attack. We'll do everything we can to prevent it, but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever . . . we absorbed it and we are stronger."
From Woodward's new book, quoted in the Washington Post.

How would one avoid it? Trashing civil liberties?
Banning any religion that makes us a'scared? Treating our own citizens as the enemy?
You can't avoid terrorists, you can only refuse to succumb to them.

I save my contempt for people that are constantly outraged but refuse to offer up any reasonable solutions, instead spending their time making pithy comebacks and belittling the comments of others.

We don't need to trash civil liberties or treat our citizens as the enemy. We can quit manufacturing them, though. What we need to do is stop interferring with the internal operations of other sovereign nations, stop sending taxpayer dollars and US weapons to other nations so they can kill and displace their enemies (making them our enemies), quit nation building and secure OUR ports and borders.

You mean to mind our own business? Surely you jest.
