'Washington Joe'
On Wednesday, West Virginia Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin voted against repealing Obamacare. The Democratic Party defended its signature legislation 51-47 in the Senate.

Let's see Joe put a rifle to this one! Raese (or whomever) should be able to unseat this raging disappointment or else WVA deserves Manchin.

Not that I don't agree that Manchin is a "raging disappointment" and needs to go, the sooner the better, but explain to me how anyone can be confident that whoever will be any better.

Re: 'Washington Joe'
I am convinced that any Republican hoping to keep a seat in West Virginia would vote for a repeal of the Obamanation of a health "care" plan. That alone is worth putting someone else in over, even if they are otherwise just as ridiculous.

You always have to hope n' pray that the "lesser of two evils" is the one that gets elected .......... because there is no way in hell that a competent person can be.

I think there is a time, to be sure, that you will not hold your nose--I did not vote for McCain because he was just that ridiculous. I knew voting for Baldwin was "throwing my vote away," but it wasn't nearly as wasted a vote than a vote for McCain would have been.
Raese was different, and I think at least half of the Republicans are. They are not what I'd like them to be, but there is enough of a difference in evil that the lesser of them becomes worthy of nominal support.

Re: 'Washington Joe'
I have voted for the lesser of two evils and I admit it. I voted for Rease simply because I could not stand the thought of Joe Manchin in Washington. I knew full well that Manchin would say whatever it took to get elected. I also knew that he would fall in amoung his Leftist brethern right after the votes were counted and he was pronounced the winner.
However, I also knew Rease was a republican version of Manchin. He is little more than a loud mouthed politician with no spine and a ton of special interest. His only redeeming quality was that he would be one more vote against the Obama regime.
The greatest problem I see is that we are so smitten by government that we want them to solve all our ills. We, the public, go running to govenrment to educate our kids, create our jobs, give us retirement, make healthcare available and affordible, and the list goes on and on. However, government, politicians, both republican and democrat, have failed miserably. Yet we continue to run to them for salvation.
I really think its time we quit running to the politicians and started standing on our own two feet. The founders had a great idea about limiting government and I really think it is time we limit government on all levels. I think it is time we start acting like responsibile adults and dealing with our own problems, ourselves.

Hi Cato,
I surely agree that we have become "entitled" as opposed to "responsible." We must look to God for our supply, as opposed to uncle Sam. Failing that, the least we can do is take charge of ourselves.
