................. and decided to agree with Aaron.

Obama will win re-election by default.

And that will be because of de fault of the silly assed Obama dislikers and haters who are spending all their time, energy and money beating up, badmouthing, crucifying, belittling, bastardizing, bemoaning and throwing-under-the bus …… any and all potential or announced Republican or Republican leaning POTUS candidates ….. except the one (1) and only one (1) candidate they want as “winner of the Primary” and thus to go head-to-head with Obama in the General.

When the last votes in the Republican Primary are counted, and a bashed, bemoaned, bloodied, broken, bruised, beleaguered, bastardizedwinner” emerges, ….. a big percentage of the voting populace will be saying to themselves …….

Well now, I sure as hell don’t want that dysfunctional, decrepit character as my next President” ……….. and they will cast their vote for Obama.

Sam, I don't think Obama will win because Republicans vote for him, but rather, if they choose to stay home or vote for a third party candidate. I think the issue is that there is an overreaction of sorts. I didn't vote for McCain and frankly think we'd be just as screwed with him. However, that does not mean that a candidate needs to be "pure" to get my vote, he just cannot be a blithering idiot.

When you cast a ballot for the "lesser of two evils" you're still voting for a shitty candidate.

Really now, and just how are you going to determine "who is" and "who isn't" the blithering idiot(s) ........ if all you are seeing, hearing and reading about is the .... beating up, badmouthing, crucifying, belittling, bastardizing, bemoaning and throwing-under-the-bus rhetoric?

Ya got a widdle pixie whispering in your ear, or what? lol! lol! lol!

The lesser of two evils is still evil. I'd only ask that you vote on your own principles without regard to whether your candidate is the frontrunner.

In the grand scheme of things, what is the reason or purpose for casting one's vote in the:

Primary Election:

(a) to aid the best qualified Candidate win in the Primary
(b) to hinder a Candidate's win in the Primary
(c) to insure good standing in the affiliated Party
(d) just so you can truthfully claim you voted
(e) duh, it is one of the things you do on election day
(f) bah, no reason to vote so you don't bother to

General Election:

(a) to aid the best qualified Candidate win the job of POTUS
(b) to aid one's chosen Party gain or keep control
(c) to aid the most evil Candidate because you don't want the lesser evil one elected
(d) to vote for a 3rd Candidate (that doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning) because you don't want either evil Candidate elected
(e) duh, it is one of the things you do on election day
(f) bah, no reason to vote so you don't bother to

Iffen you were a passenger on a "runaway" 250 mph high speed train that was destined to crash iffen it wasn't brought under control, ....... would you choose the worst one of two engineer to take control of the throttle ..... or would you choose the lesser worst of the two engineers to take control of the throttle?

Does your choosing of the lesser worst of the two engineers ...... increase the odds of saving your ass from "wreck n' ruin" ......... or not?

Or are you all pierty n' pouty and really don't give a shit ...... because your favorite engineer was left at the Station sitting on the loading platform?

Well, that is the crux of the issue: is it more important to get a friendly candidate elected or vote for the pure candidate on principle even if it is a losing battle?

I don't want to go on record voting for Romney or Huckabee or McCain in any election. The fact that Obama lost the House in 2010 was driven by his election in 2008. I'd sacrifice four years in the White House to put a loser on display. That they couldn't see his flaws to begin with is not my problem. You want hope and change? Live with the consequences. Yes, if my vote is sacred, I'd rather treat it that way.

Well now James, I like to think that my principles are impeccable ….. and that I have an abundance of common sense for use in making logical choices and reasonably good decisions, ……. most of the time.

And James, given the fact that the latter of the above two (common sense) is the instigator or driving force responsible for the former of the two (principles), …… then technically one’s principle(s) are “not cast in stone” …… but is/are the conscious decision(s) that one makes for each “event” occurrence. “One size does not fit all”, per say, …. because there is usually always different “criteria” associated with different “events”.

Given the above said, the Primary Election and the General Election are two (2) different “events” and therefore my “common sense reasoning” tells me that I should apply different “criteria” when making my choice of which Candidate(s) to cast my vote for in the two (2) different “elections”.

Voting in the Primary Election is to choose a Candidate to run in the General Election.

Voting in the General Election is to choose which Candidate will run this country for the next 4 years.

I agree that the lesser of two evils is still evil. However, there's only been the one perfect Man. to that extent, one always votes for the lesser of two evils. the issue is whether one individual crosses a certain threshold of acceptability. McCain did not. I believe that Cain does (perhaps its the "Mc" thing). The man has some growing to do, but then again so do us all. TARP was not healthy, but compared to Obamacare, it's amazingly forgiveable.

Yet and still, if there are two unacceptable candidates with the chance of winning, then they simply do not deserve our vote. I hope the Republican primary voters were suitably reprimanded for nominating McCain--time will tell.
