Interesting Unemployment Rate Comparison
I just googled "unemployment January 2009" when Obama took office, and the first link went to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (under Department of Labor) and unemployment was 7.6% when the Democrats took control of the Presidency as well as both houses of Congress. In January of 2011, the unemployment rate hit 9.0%.
I wonder if the Republicans will have enough sense to bring out such data. Total unemployment when the Democrats took Congress in January of 2007, incidentally, was under 5%.
This country is experiencing the ultimate "natural consequence," and if they re-elect Obama, they deserve this.

That's exactly why he cannot run on his record. Are you better off today than you were three years ago? Do we want more 9.1% unemployment? More jobs for union laborers (a mere 7% of the total private workforce)? More guaranteed loans to democrat bankrollers? More green jobs that cost the taxpayers an average of $2.3 million each? Even his base is eroding.

But do the Republicans have the backbone to take that data to the voters, and keep taking it back until Obama loses it?

Jimmy the Dems have really put their feet into it, over and over again. Yet, the lesson of 2008 is that the Republicans have the unfortunate ability to run lesser lights who run lousy campaigns. They can yet snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Re: Interesting Unemployment Rate Comparison
Republican insiders are much like the democrats, witness the spending spree during Bush's first term and much of the second. It was them who foisted McCain on us. Now, they're pushing Romney or alternately Chris Christie. I like Christie's tough talk but his talk at the Reagan library was strong on "compromise". You don't compromise when you win. You compromise when you lose. The Tea Party won 2010 and will not countenance the nomination of another McCain. I'm not crazy about the field but think there are conservatives who can win. I'm still hopeful but not overconfident.
