Political Miracle in the making? Empty Political Miracle in the making?

Post by shermangeneral Sun May 04, 2008 10:31 am

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

Well many would argue it is already a miracle to see the political landscape in North Carolina do such a turnaround in just a few days from a 30% lead for Obama down to single digits.

But if she can get the final count down to around 5 points it will definitely go to the Convention.

And if she can actually win in a Dem Primary where the electorate is over 40% African American I think the election is all but over and Obama will settle for VP while he still can.

(If it is not already too late)

Seems only a few short months ago that you was predicting an Edwards miracle.

No, I never predicted a miracle for Newt. I said that if he ran, he would have won the Republican nomination. He wouldn't have needed a miracle. He's 64 right now. Depending on his health and what happens in November, we may find out in 2012.

There's a huge difference in what I was saying and what you've been saying.

I don't know. Is Newt a good example of one who leads by exhibiting Christian principles in his public and private life?

I don't much care about Newt's private life. But the "Christian right" seems to care about everyone's private life.

I should have used the term 'consertative' instead of christian.

I'll re-phase and ask others.

Is there anyone that believes the majority of the consertative right would not have flocked to Newt like moth's to a flame had he chosen to run?

Let's see now. What was the reason(s) Newt got kicked out in the first place?
Seems like the republicans had a coup d'etat and booted him and before they could install the Livingston guy he got caught with his pants down and that's how we got stuck with Hastert.

I remember it had something to do with money and also sex if I remember right.

But he didnt just up and quit he got kicked out I remember that much.

You sure you didn't mean to say ..... "seems to only care about a Republican's private life."

Not according to the IRS.

Special Counsel James M. Cole concluded that Gingrich violated federal tax law and had lied to the ethics panel in an effort to force the committee to dismiss the complaint against him. However, the full panel refused to reach a conclusion about whether Gingrich had violated federal tax law and instead decided to leave that finding up to the IRS. In 1999, the IRS cleared the organizations connected with the "Renewing American Civilization" courses under investigation for possible tax violations, which suggests that Gingrich did not use tax-exempt money for political purposes.

Well then that pretty much settles it. like that headline Don Marsh used to joke about where the politician carried around this clipping in his pocket that said he was "proven innocent" by a Grand Jury.

So when it was brought up he could just whip out that "proof" and show them he was clean as a hound's tooth. bounce

The only political miracle on the horizon that I can see is that Hillary might actually bow out gracefully on May 20. But she still has a few dirty tricks left to play, such as trying to get the Michigan and Florida delegates seated in her favor.

LMAO!!! That will take a miracle!!! The more I see and hear Hillary Clinton the more convinced I become that woman believes she is owed the Presidency. She's going down kicking and screaming and if she takes her party down in the process I don't think she'll give a hoot. After all, I'm sure in her mind they're "turning" on her. Richardson, McGovern and how many other long-time "friends" are now endorsing her opponent? She will relish it.
