How I voted... Empty How I voted...

I voted for Ron Paul. I will vote for John "Maverick" McClaim in the fall. I won't vote for Bob Barr. Now, I don't know how Obama or Bob Barr is going to sleep knowing that I won't vote for them--but, that's their business.

I am leaving work in the next half hour to take my very liberal son (thanks Steph for the kind words but I don't know if he'll ever come back from the evil side) to vote for the very first time.

Did you vote for me as a delegate to the National Convention (not Aaron - Armon)?

I voted late this morning. I'm so sorry I couldn't vote for you, Jimmy. I sure would if I could.

Armon, I will not hold my nose and vote for McCain. I'd still barf and feel as though I needed decontamination afterwards. Eewww.

I might vote for Barr. I started reading about him when he formed his exploratory committee and wasn't all that impressed. He's big on the failed war on drugs. I'm ready for something new this simply isn't working.

I didn't realize it until I voted...candidates for delegate to the National Conventions were not listed. I presume that since I was a candidate in the first Congressional district committed to Ron Paul that since you voted for Ron Paul within the confines of the first Congressional district, you did in fact vote for me. Thank you very much. You will not regret it.

I did not know until yesterday but you can not take a picture inside an election center.

At any rate, Donnie cast his first vote.

And then was hurt at how bad his candidate lost.

Several of his friends was complaing about their wasted vote.

Donnie said his might not have meant much for BO but he felt like he made a difference in the Supreme Court race and a some county races. He actually gave me advice on who to vote for on the school board election.

He didn't just go punch a chad, he knew what he was doing and took it seriously. I was more excited then when he got a game winning hit in baseball. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Did all the counties offer the choice of electronic voting or a paper ballot? Mine did, I was rather impressed by that.

Jackson County did not. But the electronic voting device here offered printed confirmation of one's vote before it is then "confirmed" by the voter.

That's good too, Ziggy. Just something to know you're vote is actually recorded the way you intended. I opted for a paper ballot. You know me and my paranoia.

I think that was Kanawha Co. Clerk Vera McCormick's polite way of keeping media reps. of out the voting room. She should have been more direct though- not relied on a fib.

I am not aware of any law, rule or anything else that disallows any person who is already allowed into the voting room to taking a picture. And I've worked on election law stuff for 20 years, and have been an election worker many times. That doesn't make me an expert. But I don't think that there is actually such a rule. But media folks in the voting room- for any purpose (other than to actually cast their vote)? That's a no no.

No such parnoia here. I voted on the machine and confirmed it there and walked out. Of couse it printed on a side sheet that I could read so I know it canceled when I mistakeningly voted for Spike and changed it to Margaret Workman.

Ziggy,

There was a large sign on the door of my polling place saying no electronic devices or cameras allowed. Perhaps it's a Putnam County rule.

I didn't know that, Steph. It could be that with cell phones doubling as cameras that can transmit pitchers instantly and all, that this is a newly implimented rule. If so, I think it's probably good.
