DNC sponsorships raise questions on motivations

More than four dozen national corporations have signed up as sponsors of the convention - everyone from Allstate to Xerox. And almost all of them have the same thing in common: They either have business with the federal government or they lobby on pending issues.

And that prompts a myriad of questions.

Are the big companies simply being good corporate citizens? Or are they looking for access - maybe not to the presidential nominee, but to members of Congress and party officials who can help make sure their issues get heard?

The answer is simple, said former Denver City Councilwoman Susan Barnes-Gelt: "It's always about access."

If the current law allows it then what's the big deal Frank.

Isn't that what you said when there was question as to why Nick Rahall was speaking to a group on Cleveland!!!

In the string at hand, the "big deal" is to expose the Democratic National Committee for the whores they are. Even if prostitution is legal, a whore is still a whore.

So in your mind it's ok for Nick to take money from a group that he has no dealings with but the democratic party should in no way attempt to offset the cost of putting on their national convention even though many Congressmen deal with Allstate and other sponsors in their own districts on a daily basis?

No. It's not OK- at least not with me. Nick is a political whore. He is a Congressman. That is how they raise election campaign money. And the DNC are political whores.

Just because it's legal doens't mean it's not bribery and that they're not political whores.

Yesterday you tried to somehow contrast SMC with NJH. But they're both political whores. They sell their political souls for $$$$$ .

Yesterday you didn't have a problem with it because it was the law. Today they're all whores.

Like I said, even where prostitution is legal, a whore is still a whore.

Just be careful jumping that fence Frank. At your age, it would be pretty easy for you to fall and hurt something that counts.
