More bailouts
So they've already passed a $1 Trillion bailout, then there's this bailout and yesterday George Snuffleupagus was talking about a stimulus package that will top $500 billion dollars.
At this rate, generations will be paying for this government’s intrusion into the private sector for longer then we've been a nation.

Pelosi supports new help for ailing US automakers

WASHINGTON – Democratic congressional leaders want Congress to work in a lameduck session on a financial bailout for the troubled U.S. auto industry, which is suffering under the weight of poor sales, tight credit and a sputtering economy.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she was confident that lawmakers would consider "emergency and limited financial assistance" for the auto industry under the $700 billion bailout measure that passed Congress in October. She urged the outgoing Bush administration to support a compromise.
"In order to prevent the failure of one or more of the major American automobile manufacturers ... Congress and the Bush administration must take immediate action," said Pelosi, D-Calif.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that Democrats were "determined to pass legislation that will save the jobs of millions" as part of a postelection session. "This will only get done if President Bush and Senate Republicans work with us in a bipartisan fashion, and I am confident they will do what is right for our economy," said the Nevada Democrat.
The Bush administration has concluded that the bailout bill that passed earlier does not allow loans to the auto industry.

Re: More bailouts
And what the average American doesn't understand that if the UAW would have renegotiated years ago when the auto makers realized the enormous burden contracts negotiated in the 50's and 60's placed the companies under, this could have been prevented.
This is a union problem more then anything else and if tax payers are expected to bailout these companies, just as there are no golden parachutes for financial CEO's, there should be no free lunches for union workers.
All contracts should be renegotiated so someone isn't paid to watch a machine work and employees are paid real market value for the skills they possess.
