Here is youur oppertunity, tell me who is worth voting for
Being a Ron Paul supporter, here is why I believe the man would make a good president. This is based on what I know ofhte man from his articles and some of his speeches.
1. He supports personal responsibility. He does not believe the government's job is to correct one's mistakes.
2. He appears to be an originalist, constitutionally. I agree with this stance.
3. He believes we have no right to interfere in the internal affairs of other nations. In other words that we honor their soviernty.
4. He appears that it is rugged individaulism that made the nation great. I agree with that stance.
5. From what I have seen of his votes in congress he appears to be very fiscally conservative. I agree with that stance.
I have set back and watched the posts recently. There has been alot posted here about Ron Paul, some positive much negative. So I want to offer everyone a real oppertunity. I have posted as simply and straight forward as possible why I support the man. Now, the floow is open for you to explain why you support who you do and why?
Keli, this is especially for you. You've posted alot of BS and when push as come to shove you've never backed it up. So, here is your oppertunity to seriously explain your stance and why.

Cat, who is worth voting for?
Cato, who is worth voting for? Easy: anyone who you would not vote for--or almost any non-Democrat.

Cato,
Everyone knows I support Ron Paul. I support him for all the reasons you stated but my primary reason for supporting Ron Paul is his incredible track record of doing exactly what he says he will do. He isn't a flip flopper. He doesn't say one thing and do another. We can trust him to keep, or at least attempt to keep, every promise he makes.
These promises include things like bringing our troops home, reducing the size of government, vetoing all bills that don't fit within the framework of the Constitution, securing our borders, and taking care of our veterans.

Who would I not vote for?
For the presidency - No democrat running in the present field. With the exception of Ron Paul and possibily Fred Thompson, even though his foreign policy I don't agree with, no one else. Mitt Romney can't decide where he stands, Huckabee is just more of the same that we have now, and McCann just as well change his registration to democrat.
For Senate in West Virginia - I will not vote for Rockefeller, ever. The same is true of Byrd. However, on the republician side, there is also no one I would vote for.
For governor - No Democrat, especially no Manchin. The sad part is however, the republicans have little to offer either.
For House of Representatives - I am no fan of Capito, but she has voted on a number of occasions in a manner consistant with my views, so I would probably consider her. Again there isn't a democrat running worth my vote.

I'm not sure who I'm voting for so I can't tell you who or why. You might have guessed that I'm not a fan of Pauls. The reason is simple. He's wrong on what to do now in Iraq. That and I question why such a smart man would allow some of the tripe that was written under his name and did nothing to stop it.
Joe Manchin is a republican.

I love all pro-life Democrats, so if Manchin still is one I say more power to him.
My first choice is Ron Paul, and I suppose my second choice is Mitt Romney. I am impressed with how Romney acted as Governor of a very, well, politically unfortunate state. I do cringe at his idea of mandated health insurance but I found his admission of such to be refreshing.
I must say that whoever the Republican is, I will vote for him unless it is Rudy Giuliani or John McCain. I must say that I loathe the policy positions of the top three Democrats just that much, and on matters in which I would be sympathetic (such as "free trade" abuses) I find Edwards being unwilling to take his party to task with any kind of fervency and Kucinich polling at 1 percent.

Ron Paul because he advocates strict adherence to the Constitution, fiscal responsibility, and smaller government. I could vote for Fred Thompson. I think I could vote for Romney but I'd have to hold my nose a little.
