A screenplay for a Keystone Cops movie.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Dunbar police stopped and cited Desmond Clark on the day he is accused of shooting and killing the mother of his 2-year-old son at a West Side fast food restaurant.
The mother, Nalisha Gravely, was with Clark during the early morning traffic stop.
Gravely, 19, had an active domestic violence protective order out on Clark that wasn't to expire until Aug. 28. The order meant Clark wasn't to have contact with Gravely until then.
Clark, 22, also consented to a search of the vehicle, Whittington said. Copley didn't find any weapons there, either. But he did allegedly find a small amount of marijuana - probably less than $40 worth.
Copley in his report quoted Clark as saying, "It's mine, not hers. I'll take the hit for it."
Copley cited Clark for simple possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license. Whittington said Gravely called a friend to come and pick them up.
Clark is currently on probation for two years after pleading guilty earlier this year to drugs, weapons and violence charges stemming from various incidents last year, some of which involved attacks on Gravely.

I bet you would find it amusing.
GEEEZUS, I can't change the culture of Kanawha County ....... and if that is the way they want t live, ........I'll laugh at them.

Stephanie wrote:So she deserved to be gun(ned) down in a Taco Bell.
Well ..... "Yes", ...... just the same as those who overdose on heroin or cocaine.
Stephanie, that "story" would have been basically a "non-issue" if she had been killed in a semi-vacant parking lot ......... away from the eyes of the public.
Nobody really gives a damn about the "dirty laundry" ......... until someone "washes a load" of it right in front of a few people.
Then everyone who has some responsibility for insuring the "laundry is kept clean" has to scurry to CTA.

Questions linger why Clark was free
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- In the wake of the shooting death of Nalisha Gravely at a West Side Taco Bell on Saturday, questions linger about why her alleged killer - her longtime boyfriend with an extensive criminal history - was not already behind bars.
Desmond D. Clark, the man accused of murdering Gravely, was first arrested in September 2004 on charges of domestic battery against her. Over the next four years, police charged him with 12 additional misdemeanors and eight felonies.
The history of Clark's journey through the court system - he was involved in cases in magistrate, circuit and family court in Kanawha County - shows that multiple courts with sometimes overlapping jurisdictions can h……………….

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two Kanawha County magistrates say police asked for leniency when setting bond on Desmond Demetrius Clark because he was providing information to police.
There are different levels of informant, not all are paid, according to several magistrates who agreed to talk for this story on the condition of anonymity because the judicial code of ethics forbids them from talking about cases.
"They [the police] never tell you he is paid. You never know if they are paid or not. They never say they are paying [someone] to be an informant," a magistrate said. "Usually, the informants I know don't get paid."
Clark is charged with killing the mother of his child, Na'lisha Fiona Gravely, at a Taco Bell on Charleston's West Side on Saturday.
Six of 10 Kanawha County magistrates were interviewed for this story. In addition to the two who confirmed that police asked for leniency for Clark, two others confirmed that police asked for leniency on other offenders besides Clark.

Re: A screenplay for a Keystone Cops movie.
MONTPELIER, Vt. — Reversing what it said last week, the state Department of Corrections now says it recommended the release from probation of a convicted sex offender accused of kidnapping 12-year-old Brooke Bennett.
Michael Jacques, 42, was released from probation in 2006, after serving more than four years in prison and being supervised for eight years for kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in 1992.
