Would Kerry help Obama's chances?

Well I have been hearing this the past few days.
Does anybody think there is a chance it will happen?

I hope it does happen. Because I think that it could be a votes bonanza for Nader and McKinney.

I think it would cost Obama the election.

I think that a V-P who was "for the war before he was against it" and one who was against it before he was for it would be the perfect marriage. I say go for it, Obamessiah!

I think Obama's strident leftism is going to cost him the election once the electorate figures out just how Far Out There he really is.
Then there is the whole guilt by association thing. The Rezko fellow who helped him get started in Chicago politics would be at home with the politics in Logan county. I got around to studying their relationship somewhat, and have come to conclude that Obama, at minimum, was implausibly naive about his friend and political associate. At worst, Obama put his play for political power ahead of his ethics and morals. So much for his claim that he is a unifyer that will transcend politics as usual.
You can also look for McCain to resurrect pastor Wright.
That instance interested me in particular because it involved a form of Christian theology that I vehemently disagree with. I consider 'liberation theology' [be it black liberation or otherwise] to be a clear perversion of the Gospels; Christ died to free humanity from sin, not just to free select groups from political oppression as the likes of Wright would assert. And I think Obama made a severe political miscalculation by not only distancing himself from pastor Wright but also from the blatantly racist black liberation theology. If I was McCain's handler would I would frame Obama as an unrepentent racist until he named such theology for what it is and distanced himself from it, as well as from pastor Wright. This would deliver the evangelical vote and also have the added advantage of putting Obama in the position of having to alienate one of his own major constituencies.
Then there are issues. I don't think Obama stands a chance there either.
IMO.

You'll be fine Brian as it's very similar to the old Gaz forum.
On your post, I agree with everything you're saying as far as what has happened and what McCain should do. The only problem is, I think the liberal media is going to continue to hound on anything and everything negative about Republicans and only report positive on the democrat side of things. I'm basically a novice to this political game but I don't ever recall the media being so one sided and biased and I believe they will do whatever they can to get Obama elected up to and including playing the race card.
Add to that the Republicans don't have a strong consertative candidate who hasn't thrilled their base which will keep them home and I just don't see how McCain will win.

Well Aaron, the conservatives may not be mobilized by McCain but they will be mobilized to come out against Obama perhaps even moreso than they would have against Hillary Clinton. Provided of course, they take the time to educate themselves on Obama and/or the media quits playing cheerleader for him.

The media is not going to quit cheerleading for him. If anything, they will increase the cheerleading.

Obama choosing Kerry would be a very bad idea, and as such I am all for it.
