Well it looks more and more that, barring another terrorist attack or military intervention somewhere, this election will hinge on the economy.
And, whether deserved or not, the republicans will suffer the consequences.
"“There is the complete utter loss of faith in GOP politics,” argued Jim Jordan, a Democratic strategist. “This is chickens coming home to roost in a way that was almost unimaginable a year ago.” (from above link.)
I realize we have some "true believer" republicans who do not or cannot believe that, but the party in power always gets the bulk of the blame.
I just hope the Obama campaign changes course and puts some money in WV and helps create a solid Democratic Congressional delegation.
He will need a solid Democrat working majority to make significant change.

In other words, you want Ann Barth to ride his coattails because the other 2 democratic Representatives and the 2 democratic Senators don't constitute a "solid Democratic Congressional delegation", right Sherm.
As they're all 4 pretty much useless, can't think for themselves and can only do what the DNC tells them to do, yeah, I can see why YOU need Ann.

Re: Political consequences of Economic crisis
Well Aaron I am just facing facts.
The republicans will reap the blame for this mess because they are in and the ones who are in get the blame.
And if Obama will put some money in here he can help elect Barth.

Yeah, money is about the only chance Ann has of getting elected as her values and those of the voters of the 2nd district don't go hand in hand.

Re: Political consequences of Economic crisis
Yes, the Republicans should take a great deal of the blame for this current mess. After all, it was they who went to war WITHOUT paying for it, which is the first time in our history as a nation that has happened and it was they that passed another unfunded liability of wasteful entitlement spending with the Medicare prescription plan.
But you are wrong about they being in. Democrats took control in January 2007 and at that time, the stock market was well over 12,000. It closed yesterday under 9,000.
The thing is, I learned a long time ago that he who is the loudest and pointing fingers to affix blame is drawing attention to himself and the fact that he has 4 fingers pointing right back at himself.
One party didn't get us in this mess. One party will not get us out. That is a simple fact which you refuse to accept. Why?

Maybe she could contact ACORN and get some voter registration action going on... We haven't seen much action since the Feds cleaned up Mingo County.

Re: Political consequences of Economic crisis
Well Aaron I said they would get the blame whether they deserve it or not.
Do you disagree?

Yeah your ol buddy Arch did pretty well in Mingo.
What was that compliment Johnny Owens made concerning Arch?
I forget.

From the very liberal media which has became nothing more then multiple press secretaries for the DNC, yes Republicans will get the blame. And those ignorant enough to believe everything the press says lock, stock and barrel will believe them.
Reasonable Americans, those who have the ability to think for themselves, will realize that about the only difference between the democratic party and the Republican party today is their social stances and understand that BOTH parties are responsible for getting us in this mess.
Do you disagree?

Yes I believe both are responsible for the current mess, probably.
And there is not enough difference between the parties as there should be. imo

The Three G's are about the only difference that I see lately. At least from Republicans currently in office. I'm sure there are some consertative house members but we see how well that worked last week.
