SF Zoo Tiger Did Public Service!
Police: Victim drunk during tiger attack
Yahoo/AP ^ | Fri Jan 18 | AP
If that tiger had let these drunken and doped drivers back on the highway, who knows how many more than one INNOCENT person could have been killed?

One of the three victims of San Francisco Zoo tiger attack was intoxicated and admitted to yelling and waving at the animal while standing atop the railing of the big cat enclosure, police said in court documents filed Thursday.
Paul Dhaliwal, 19, told the father of Carlos Sousa Jr., 17, who was killed, that the three yelled and waved at the tiger but insisted they never threw anything into its pen to provoke the cat, according to a search warrant affidavit obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle.
"As a result of this investigation, (police believe) that the tiger may have been taunted/agitated by its eventual victims," according to Inspector Valerie Matthews, who prepared the affidavit. Police believe that "this factor contributed to the tiger escaping from its enclosure and attacking its victims," she said.
Sousa's father, Carlos Sousa Sr., said Dhaliwal told him the three stood on a 3-foot-tall metal railing a few feet from the edge of the tiger moat. "When they got down they heard a noise in the bushes, and the tiger was jumping out of the bushes on him (Paul Dhaliwal)," the documents said.
Police found a partial shoe print that matched Paul Dhaliwal's on top of the railing, Matthews said in the documents.
The papers said Paul Dhaliwal told Sousa that no one was dangling his legs over the enclosure. Authorities believe the tiger leaped or climbed out of the enclosure, which had a wall 4 feet shorter than the recommended minimum.
The affidavit also cites multiple reports of a group of young men taunting animals at the zoo, the Chronicle reported.
Toxicology results for Dhaliwal showed that his blood alcohol level was 0.16 — twice the legal limit for driving...All three also had marijuana in their systems, Matthews said. Kulbir Dhaliwal told police that the three had smoked pot and each had "a couple shots of vodka" before leaving San Jose for the zoo on Christmas Day, the affidavit said.
<snip>
Zoo spokesman Sam Singer said he had not seen the documents but believed the victims did taunt the animal, even though they claim they hadn't.
"Those brothers painted a completely different picture to the public and the press," Singer said. "Now it's starting to come out that what they said is not true."

Feline harassment, ....... racist attack, ...... tain't no wonder that tiger got po'ed and went after them.
And that tiger didn't bother anyone else, it remembered who they were and tracked them down.
Their mommies should have taught them better, ....... then that wouldn't have happened.

I don't think Lennon mentioned tigers, however....

My dogma chasing Lennon's karma: If I was a tiger trapped in a pen--that one moment of freedom and revenge would be worth being shot.

I wonder how the concept of karma came about. It strikes me as the ultimate cop-out "It is really my fault, just not in this lifetime!"
I think it has already been mentioned that people always imagine themselves kings and bishops rather than dunggatherers and Frenchmen.

I don't think it's a cop-out. We look at it in total reverse. You see it as what happens now is from the past. I look at it more as what I do today will impact my future. It's just another tool used to "make" people be "good".
In many respects I prefer the concept of karma to the Christian idea that you're either going to heaven or hell. With karma you get what you give. That isn't typically the case with Christianity.
That said, I don't believe in karma either. I think my husband does to a degree though and my teenage daughter definitely does.
If I may quote Lennon again.........
"Whatever gets you through the night"

Stephanie, do you remember this country song from about 35 years ago?
(words & music by kris kristofferson)
Take the ribbon from your hair
Shake it loose, let it fall
Lay it soft against my skin
Like the shadow on the wall
Come and lay down by my side
Till the early morning light
All Im taking is your time
Help me make it through the night
I dont care whats right or wrong
I wont try to understand
Let the devil take tomorrow
cause tonight I need a friend
Yesterday is dead and gone
And tomorrows out of sight
And its sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night
I dont care whats right or wrong
I wont try to understand
Let the devil take tomorrow
cause tonight I need a friend
Yesterday is dead and gone
And tomorrows out of sight
And its sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night
I dont want to be alone
Help me make it through the night

Re: SF Zoo Tiger Did Public Service!
Didn't somebody else have the hit with that? I'm sort of hearing somebody else sing that in my head. lol
I really like Kris Kristofferson. My personal favorite of his is Sunday Morning Coming Down or maybe Loving Her Was Easier they are both on my hard drive and are played frequently.

Well now, I had to look up the meaning of "karma" and found about 40 of them here:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:Karma&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title
And I liked this one, which suffices for how both of you "look at it" as stated above.
karma - The effects of a person's past actions on his or her present and future state.
But I will just stick with using the word "nurture, nurtured, nurturing" because the word "karma" implies something mystical or supernatural, ......... and I am not a believer in either.

Someone has gotta say it. You play with fire you might get burned. You taunt a large cat, you might get killed.
The only thing I blame the zoo for is that nobody was around to stop the little freak from taunting the cat. Otherwise, gee, too bad, so sad.
