Re: The Democratic Supermajority
The only hope for America surviving until 2010 is 41 Republican Senators.
In my opinion, McCain's biggest failure hasn't been or won't be in losing a Presidential election, it's been in not tying Obama to Reid/Pelosi and doing more to ensure there is not veto proof Senate. Everytime Obama said Bush/McCain, John McCain should have been saing Pelosi/Reid/Obama as Obama voted with the lune left far more then McCain did the religious right. It is a failure that has the potential to haunt millions for years to come.

Re: The Democratic Supermajority
Certainly America as we know it. I doubt if even the socialist-minded democrats can bring it down. But look at what republican control has brought: multi-trillion dollar deficits, thirty years of unparalleled prosperity which sadly have culminated in a major panic, a growing government, the general impression that entitlements are good. etc.

Re: The Democratic Supermajority
Though we doubt most Americans realize it, this would be one of the most profound political and ideological shifts in U.S. history. Liberals would dominate the entire government in a way they haven't since 1965, or 1933. In other words, the election would mark the restoration of the activist government that fell out of public favor in the 1970s. If the U.S. really is entering a period of unchecked left-wing ascendancy, Americans at least ought to understand what they will be getting, especially with the media cheering it all on.
Why I betcha that if and when Sherman reads this "A Liberal Supermajority" article ...... he will have an orgasm that will last non-stop for at least a week, maybe longer.

Re: The Democratic Supermajority
This is one President and had we paid for the war as we went along, we wouldn't have the deficits we have. I honestly think America is moving in a conservative direction, this election not withstanding.
This election is the result of anger toward GWB’s 8 years of bungling and ineptitude and has been fostered by liberal media lies, half truths, misleading stories and daily campaigning for an Obama Presidency and is not, imo, a true reflection of how American truly feel.
If all of America were head over heels for Obama as the media suggest, then the race wouldn't be as close as it is.
Saying that, I do believe Republicans need to retune to their conservative base and if they do, they'll enjoy another 28 year run like the one they had from 1980 to 2008. I just don't see democrats holding power for very long, not with their very liberal agenda.
