Magistrate candidate facing drug charges
A candidate for Cabell County magistrate has been arrested on drug charges.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- A candidate for Cabell County magistrate has been arrested on drug charges.

Amy Walker Daugherty was arraigned on six felony counts of possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver and one count of bribery of a public official after she was arrested Tuesday evening in Huntington.

Police say Daugherty was arrested in a Rite Aid parking lot at 8:23 p.m.

Daugherty, who spoke little during the arraignment, posted $40,000 bond and was released around 11:30 p.m. A preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 10.

Daugherty received the most votes in an 18-candidate race in the Democratic primary and received an endorsement from the union for the Huntington Police Department.

Last time I tried selling something, I told a lady I'd sell her my body. She held out a dollar bill and ask me if I had 3 quarters for change.

I could be wrong but I don't think you have to post the full $40,000. I think it is but a small percentage.

I could be wrong but I don't think you have to post the full $40,000. I think it is but a small percentage.

10% and the note to your house, through a bondsman. Not that I would know, or anything...
