Well Terri if he is that bad, and the majority think the republicans are worse, what does that say about your beloved party?

Re: What I say...
Well I have a different take on it.
The public does prefer the Democrats. There can be no denying it.
But I don't think it has anything to do with Democratic ideals being any better. Quite the contrary, it has to do with the inability of the Republicans to articulately state their case. Bush has refused to defend himself as well as explain himself and he has done himself and his parties no favors through his lack of openness and coherence.
He is being advised by idiots.

Re: What I say...
So Mike let me get this straight ok.
Things are really not screwed up under the republicans and our economy is not at risk more than anytime since Hoover right?
It just seems that way and all they need is a better PR guy?
Who should they get, Baghdad Bob?

Re: What I say...
You remember how he won that Senate seat, don't ya.
Alan Keyes filed to replace Ryan but Keys was an “outsider” from Maryland and Illinois voters rejected him.
Thus, for all practical purposes, Barack Obama ran unopposed, … uncontested, for the Senate seat. He was elected by default.

Buffeted by allegations of sex club forays, Republican candidate Jack Ryan on Friday dropped out of the U.S. Senate race in Illinois after allegations emerged from divorce records that he took his ex-wife to sex clubs..
Ryan, 44, a wealthy former investment banker, had been running against Democrat Barack Obama for the seat being vacated by retiring GOP Sen. Peter Fitzgerald -- a potentially key contest in the battle for control of the evenly divided Senate.

Re: What I say...
All the "troughfeeders" .... and wannabe "troughfeeders" will be voting for Obama.
Obama has promised all of them a 'box of fried chicken' whenever they want one .......... and "a check with their name on it" whenever they need spending money.
Obama will figure out how to pay for it after he is elected.

That's right, Sammy. In the entire state of Illinois, the GOP couldn't find anyone willing to run against Sen. Obama. Why? Because they knew they would lose. In other words, there were no republicans in all of Illinois better than Sen. Obama. Kinda' like right now; there are no republicans in all of the US better than Sen. Obama. That is why he will be the next President of the United States of America.
The only question remaining is: What will be your excuse Wednesday morning????????????????????
Re: What I say...
So tell us William, how do the minority citizens of Illinois compete with Chicago and Chicagoland politics, ruled by Cook County democrats?
Perhaps you can explain how the ~3 million southern Illinoisans can override the demands of the ~9 million in Chicagoland.

You are f'ing delusional, bmd.
You are not supporting someone capable of being POTUS, ....... you are supporting someone chosen to be a "cultural icon" ........ and that is all you are going to get if he is elected. A black Elmer Gantry as POTUS.
Except of course, you are going to get a socio-economic climate to mirror your cultural icon ...... and it will hardly be any different than the socio-economic climate of the Country of Liberia.
Your cultural icons have been in charge of governing Liberia for almost a hundred and forty years and the country is no better off now than when it was founded and they were put in charge.
bmd wrote:The only question remaining is: What will be your excuse Wednesday morning????????????????????
I won't have or need an excuse on Wednesday morning if Obama wins, but I will offer a comment of:
"You sucked for it bmd, .......
now swallow it for the next 4 years."

Re: What I say...
You know I never use that kind of language, but farg me if I can't think of a better way to describe the next 4 years.
And, bmd, you prove that you do not spend enough time out of the lab. For one, there is a strong Democratic tradition in Southern Illinois (Dick Durbin and Glenn Poshard, the latter actually a good man, are both from Southern Illinois. Secondly, as Aaron has pointed out, the numbers are noteworthy, too, and to think that Southern Illinois should share in Crook County's blame is pura basura. 3 out of 7 state Supreme Court justices in the state are elected from District One (which is literally Cook County). Many think the "r" is left out of Crook County.
