Auto industry woes hit close home

Well all the rugged individualists who oppose the automobile industry probably did not stop to consider it might affect them here in WV.
Of course now they will say well it's only 120 jobs.
But they dont consider when a plant cuts back it affects their suppliers.
And their suppliers' suppliers.

Re: Auto industry woes hit close home
This was mentioned on the other thread.
So can you show where Toyota has gone to the government, hat in hand, begging for a bailout?
If not, this isn't an "auto industry" problem, it's an economic problem.
The auto industries problems are a result of poor management decisions and high labor contracts and are not a result of the economic slowdown but have merely been magnified by it.
Understand yet?

Re: Auto industry woes hit close home
Lots of businesses and lots of industries are cutting back. It's called a recession. Should the government bail them all out? Should the Fed just keep printing more money out of thin air or should more bonds be sold to China in order to do so?
Why should the taxpayers be burdened with bailing out companies that simply aren't competitive. They have dragged their feet for 40 years on energy efficiancy and innovation. Union officials are unwilling to make concessions, management totally incompetent.....why should they be bailed out? What's to say we'll give them $25 billion in addition to the $25 billion already slated for them and they won't be any better off a year or two from now?
Linen & Things is closing all of its stores. So are Piercing Pagoda and many other retailers. Even giants like JC Penny are closing stores. Should Harry & Nancy tell Bernanke to rev up the printing presses for them too?

Well it's always easy to say others are not productive or deserving.
So is it ok to bail you guys out but not those who work for the Auto industry.?

Who's bailing me out Sherman? I ask you 2 or 3 times on another thread if the government should have saved my plant and if not, why and you refused to answer.
So I'll ask again.
My plant and our 15 employees is shutting down. Is our jobs not worth saving?
