Lessons in Georgia...
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1863231,00.html
Well this article right here re-enforces what I have been trying to tell my rightwing friends on here.
They just say it better with prettier words.
And as usual (for those who like to do a quick skim) the heart of the message is toward the end.
So if you just take a quick glance at the first paragraph you will miss the main message.

Re: Lessons in Georgia...
Well if you mean the man on the street not much difference.
But for a Senator it is a big difference because it affects Committee assignments, etc.
And when they caucus they can twist arms or hand out candy to get you to vote the party line.

Re: Lessons in Georgia...
So you think that if you guys get 60 Senators that they are all going to fall in line and vote the Ried/Pelosi liberal party line, huh Sherman?
What about blue dogs? I realize they are more prevalent in the house but there are conservative democrats that are not going to fall in line on EVERY issue.

Re: Lessons in Georgia...
This is what passes for objective journalism today:
On the other hand, a Martin surprise in this deep-red state would be a crowning embarrassment for the GOP. It would rival Obama's own victory as a repudiation of the Bush agenda of tax cuts for the rich, pork for the well-connected, belt-tightening for the working poor, drill-baby-drill, strict-construction judges and military adventurism —,,,

Re: Lessons in Georgia...
Time has begrudgingly admitted that the way for Republicans to win is to be conservative.
Duh.
The whole "even more white" comment is just pure schmuckery. There is nothing "white" about believing in the right to life and the 2nd amendment.
