never too late to do right...

I for one will not endorse the cynicism about Huckabee pulling his ad.
I do not agree with Huckabee's politics but there is a lot about the man I like.
I am glad he chose not to run this last minute barrage, even though Romney clearly had it coming.
The Good Book says love those who hate you and do good to those who despitefully abuse you.
That is what Huckabee is doing.
So we will see how it plays out.
Either way, Huckabee is a winner.
Sometimes it is hard for me to just keep my mouth shut and hold my fire when people are critical so I say three cheers to Huckabe.e.

Re: never too late to do right...
Huckabee held a press conference to announce he wouldn't run an attack ad against Romney only to show the ad to a room full of reporters with over a dozen cameras rolling. Perhaps there is a god because his presentation suffered some technical difficulties!
I'm no fan of Romney, but the ole Huckster got that ad splashed across television screens nation wide and didn't spend a plug nickel to do it. Are you suggesting Huckabee didn't know his attack ad would receive all this national exposure?
Sherm, you aren't really that gullible. I'm not buying it for a minute.
I like all the smilies

Well it is true Huck could not resist just one little dig and a parting shot.
But heck he went to all that trouble making the ad and all...
I think the part that made him pull it was where he said if you use dishonest means to get the job you will probably do dishonest things after you get it.
Which is true.
Hardly anyone is dishonest if there's nothing to gain.
But even that is not a hard and fast rule.
I have to confess and disclose there is something about Romney I don't like.
He just seems sneaky to me.

To me Romney appears to be one of those guys who will tell you anything, if that's what he thinks you want to hear.
Also, he seems plastic, You know? Very superficial, even artificial. Does that man ever have a hair out of place? lol
I don't trust him.
Re: never too late to do right...
I think Huckabee's intentions in pulling the ad were honorable, but also politically expedient. I think he's showing that one can have both scruples and saviness.
I'd rather see a true conservative like Dr Paul win, but I am happy with Huckabee as the front-runner as well. I hesitantly approve of Mitt Romney because I just can't stop staring at that beautiful man (sarcasm intended....)

I'm sorry I missed Sherm. I would have told him that Romney reminds me a great deal of Edwards.

Re: never too late to do right...
Well aaron I have picked up that some people see Edwards as you do.
Even my old buddy zig does not seem to like him.
But he seems to say a lot of stuff I think, plus he seems sincere to me.
Romney seems as plastic as Bush's Xmas turkey he took over to feed the troops.

He would have been a huge success in Hollywood Sherm. I'm sure he'd have a mantle full of little golden men.
