Watching the zeros expand in the multiplying bailouts to nowhere, Caroline was asked what comes after a trillion.

"A cotillion?", she replied.

My speculation is that Gov. Patterson informed her that he wasn't choosing her and this is what she worked out to let him off the hook from those who think she has a birth right to this seat and for her to save a little face.

Well jokes are ok and sometimes healthy.

My Mother used to say laughter is the best medicine there is.

But just for the record, Caroline comes from pretty good intellectual stock.

I doubt she is lacking. I suspect she is pretty smart.

But like I myself have been told, she hides it well sometimes.

Patterson's office leaked that she was having marital discord and a fling with New York Times publisher, Arthur Sulsberger, jr. If that is true I think you are right: she is good at hiding her intelligence.

Actually I think if you have the fortitude to put up with it, an extra-marital fling might be good for a politician's electoral effort.

Most people dont seem to mind, and it generates a lot of publicity.

The publisher of the New York Times has a horse fetish.
