I would not use those adjectives to describe Obama.
His policies are wrong, and they are not (yet, at least) having their intended effect. If and when they fail, it will not be only Obama's fault, but the voters for electing him as well.

Well did you guys think the economy could turn around on a dime?
Elsewhere I pointed out that very little of the stimulus $ has actually
been spent.
I am sure you will have ample occasions to criticize Obama legitimately but this ain't one of them.
Remember also he had hoped the old Congress would respond to the clearly expressed will of the people and have the stimulus bill ready to go on Inauguration Day.
The republicans were able to obstruct passage for nearly 2 months, while the economic tailspin accelerated.
I even hear some of the critics claiming that Obama's deficit budget is making things worse.
As I understand it, the fiscal year won't end till october so we are still operating on Bush's budget.

Well, for the umpeenth time I have to say I've asked you why we rushed to pass a big fat porker of a bill that failed to stimulate the economy until next year and the year after. First, you impugned my patriotism. Secondly, you acted like you'd already dealt with it. Maybe you ought to delete the post above, too. It sort of stretches your credulity.

Well show me where I impugned your patriotism and I will delete it.
And like I said in the post just before yours, Obama wanted the previous Congress to "rush to pass the big fat porker" but the republicans stonewalled till the new Congress came in.
So from my pt. of view, your guys delayed passage for two months and now are whining because the stimulus $ have not turned the economy.
Also I think some on your side do not realize the new budget does not start till October.
Else we could be doing a double whammy and get the money flowing and get people working these good union scale jobs and get the birds back singing etc.

Sherm,
I have a yes or no question for you.
Can you spend yourself out of financial ruin?

Why do you waste your time? Sherman, lackes the courage to answer that question. If he answers it honestly, then he'll have to face the fact his beloved democrats are complete morons that are going to destory what is left of this nation.

So what are you telling us Shermmy, ........... other than that Obama and the Tax & Spendocrats still have 6 1/2 months to really F-up Bush's Budget so that it will show the greatest Deficit Spending and increase in the National Debt that was ever recorded in the history of the USA?
Sherman, just how in the world will you be able withstand all the orgasms you are anticipating when it comes time for you to start blaming it all on Bush and the Republicans?

The Daily Change ^ | 03182009 | TDC
Obama appeared at the East Peoria plant last month, saying Caterpillar would be able to rehire laid-off workers if Congress approved his stimulus plan. The Stimulus plan has been passed and this week Caterpillar announced an additional 2,200 job cuts, more than 1,500 of those layoffs will be in Illinois.

Yes, and then you can unring all the bells.
Yes, republicans delayed passing a bill that doesn't help the economy until 2011. Impeach them! Do you have any idea how dumb that is? So your answer to the question: what is the rush in passing a stimulus bill that doesn't stimulate for eighteen months or more is that republicans delayed passing a stimulus that doesn't stimulate for eighteen months or more? No wonder you didn't want to answer!

Well Cato you are right I will not answer when someone demands a simplistic answer to a complex question.
I know it goes against your republican grain, but some questions do not have simple yes or no answers.
I think it is a false assumption that managing a national budget is directly analogous to managing a family budget.
In my view, certain kinds of debt are not inherently bad.
In the instance of a family budget, it is not necessarily bad budgeting to have a home mortgage or a car loan where you get the benefit of the home or car while you are paying for it instead of waiting 20 years so you can pay cash.
And nearly all businesses in this country operate on credit.
That is why the economy is now in the tank, remember?
When credit dries up business grinds to a halt.
So when you demand a yes or no answer to such a question I think you are just posturing for your forum friends and not really looking for a serious answer.

HA, and in several previous posts Sherm tried to CHA by claiming he didn't know much about economics.
So take your pick which to believe.

It should be quite evident that none of us knows much about economics.

YADA, ..... YADA, ..... YADA
Just more of your weazelworded bullshit.
Claiming you don't know much about it ...... but claiming you are an expert at knowing no one else does.

If you don't know much about economics, then why don't you do as you suggested to OC and read different sources instead of relying solely on the propaganda put out by democrats?

I am far from an expert when it comes to economics. However, I can read and I can learn and for the past couple of years that is what I've been doing.
Instead of learning about the topic, Sherm is just asking "Who is John Galt?"
I'm growing to love that line.
