Cowboy Navy saves captain--kills eco-freedom fighters.

I suppose that we should be proud of ourselves for killing some poor Somalis and rescuing an American boat captain. But, hadn't those pirates been driven to piracy by economic pressures from the US and other carbon gluttons? Couldn't we have allowed more time for negotiations? Aren't these Somali men's lives worth more than a measly $2 million dollars? How is this going to make us look in front of the Europeans--who let their hostages wait for a more humane way to handle their hostage situations?

Has Obama created a quagmire by killing these starving/helpless "pirates?' If, al Qaeda was not in Somalia now--it will be!

MOGADISHU, April 13 (Reuters) - Somali insurgents fired mortars towards U.S. congressman Donald Payne as he left the Somali capital on a rare visit by a U.S. politician to the anarchic Horn of Africa nation, police said.

"One mortar landed at the airport when Payne's plane was due to fly and five others after he left and no one was hurt," Abukar Hassan, a police officer at Mogadishu airport, told Reuters. (Reporting by Ibrahim Mohamed; Writing by Jack Kimball; Editing by Andrew Cawthorne)
