Cash for Clunkers--what about the clunker-less? Empty Cash for Clunkers--what about the clunker-less?

Isn't it patently unfair to give $4500 to people who can afford to run a car? Shouldn't everyone get the $4500 to be spent as they wish?

That $4500 will only stimulate more car production which the rest of the people can't afford to buy.

But in this case of, ..... Cash for Clunkers, ...... it is mostly being redistributed to the wealther segment of the populace who previously bought those gas-guzzling SUVs, expensive Pick-ups, etc.

That Cash for Clunkers program ain't worth crap for to anyone that was "fuel economy" conscious anytime previous to now.

Here, check for yourself to see if it would benefit you, to wit:

Does my trade-in qualify?

Because I bought a fuel efficient car IN THE FIRST PLACE, I do not qualify.

Just like I don't qualify for mortgage help because I got one I could afford.

How else do they intend to discriminate against me based on my good choices? Perhaps a tax credit for those recovering from unfaithfulness in their marriage?

I keep hearing Ron Paul discussing how we must live within our means.

Nope, my clunker does not qualify. None of our clunkers do, but I'm not surprised.
