AEP's John Amos power plant is located on the Kanawha River near Poca. Maybe that's why some folks in that area seem to usually have their head in a cloud.

Amos plant emitting more than reported
'Blue haze' inquiry uncovers discrepancies

The John Amos Power Plant has released far more sulfuric acid into Kanawha
Valley air than previously disclosed to the public, state regulators have
discovered.

Exact estimates were not available late last week, and a new emissions
report from American Electric Power may not be filed until early March.

But state Department of Environmental Protection officials calculated the
Amos acid emissions at roughly four times greater than AEP previously told
regulators and residents.

That could amount to several million pounds a year of unreported releases of
a toxic chemical that can burn the eyes, mouth and throat, and cause
respiratory problems, especially in children with asthma.

They are a fantastic community partner to the area, giving to all area schools, supporting a multitude of community projects and providing billions of dollars in jobs to local workers while providing a product that we as West Virginians and Americans can not live without.

In addition, they are continually improving on emmissions and environmental issues as the related article shows.

Now was that "news" or was that "scare tactics" intended to "prime" the citizens for what will surely follow in the weeks to come?

And just how much is "far more"?

Something greater than "near less" ...... I assume. Razz Razz Razz

And just what the hell are "exact estimates"?

Does anyone have any idea what it means?

Must be when ya get 4 or 5 Zigsters to estimate how much they think it could have been, ........ and then their guesses are "added n' averaged" ..... resulting in an "exact estimate". clown clown clown

Well, one thing for sure, the "greenie" Anti-Corporationists will be citing that "news" as factual and substantiated proof of how bad n' awful corporations are.
