Obama DOJ finds Constitutional Imperative for Democrats

The Obama Department of Justice has seen fit to overide a vote by the citizens of Kinston, NC to make local elections non-partisan. The DOJ has intervened and overturned the election because they think the locals (two-to-one African American) will not know for whom to vote if the appellations "republican" and "democrat" are absent. Would that not make voting for republicans unconstitutional?

There are twenty-two thousand residents in all of Lenoir County, NC.

That would also be true for the majority of the State of WV.

In WV the locals insist that the democrats are really republicans. We see that right here often.

I remember adoring my Democratic State Senator in WV, who then lost to a Republican State Senator (Facemeyer) who I liked as well.

It goes back to principles over party, and as the Obama team has not principles, party is all that is left.

She's known as Two-Facemeyer now, Sheik.

It's been 9 years now, what has she done?

As a member of whatever committee it was sent to, Facemeyer refused to vote to send a bill to the floor that would bar WV from complying with the Real ID, but they were calling her that here before that happened.

I agree with you and not her, but is that her only glaring flaw? Good heavens, if all Obama did was favor the Real ID "big brother goes to Walgreen's" Act we might merely be in a crippling recession right now!

The "authentic" conservative types I know around here were calling her that when I arrived.

I can tell you she has never once responded to a letter, phone call, or email from me. Mike Hall always replies. Heck, even Jay Rock & Big Daddy manage to get responses sent from their offices. Not that I typically like what they have to say.....

I also appreciate it when I get a response, even one I don't like. Capito even "overresponded" to a particularly angry letter I sent her office relating to abortion. I found her office's willingness to correspond delightful, although I knew darn well I wasn't making any kind of impact there....
