As I have said many times and been critized by our leftist brethern for, all the anti-military, anti-war political posturing has resulted in one thing. It has emboldened the muslim extremists and has caused death and injury to many of our armed forces. In my humble opinion, it shows a complete lack of moral value to vote to take the nation to war as the democrats did (PL 107,243), only to abandon the military once public opinion changed, thanks to the lamestream media.

Why is it that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" until a Democrat gets elected, at which time it becomes treason?

I have no problem with dissent and people who opposed the war. In fact, I was never in favor of our messing in Iraq. However, congress voted overwhelmly to send our military into Iraq. In fact, the DEMOCRATS demanded a second vote on the issue so they could vote in favor on of the invasion. Look it up for yourself and see. Where I have problem is when these very same politicians be they democrat or republican, defer to the polls and public opinion instead of standing by their original decision and commitment. Where I really have a problem is when said politicans bows to public opinion solely for political gain.
Like it or not, what alot of the bloodsucking parasites in congress have succeed in doing is embolding a very determined enemy. These politicans, no matter their party, have caused alot of death and injury to the very people they commited to battle. Congress has always had the ability to bring this war to an end. They lack the guts however to do it, because it means again making a commitment, this time one they can't back out of.

Re: WHITE HOUSE: OBAMA CRITICS HELPING AL QAEDA
Hi Cato,
I agree with you that these politicians are afraid to make a principled stand. If the Dems indeed oppose the war in Iraq, they could pull funding and the war would end. Is it that they are cowards, or that they really don't care about the war as long as they can use it for political gain?
My frustration is with the double standard that says one can say horrible things about one president and then lose the right of dissent when a new president takes office. If it is OK to disagree (and it is, to be sure) with W, then it is OK to disagree with Obama without being labelled an extremist, a traitor, or a racist.

As for sacrificing what is right to public opinion, I don't see anyone of either party who has the cajones to say that sometimes the public is simply wrong.
