The climate emperors have no clothes
"Once upon a time, there lived a vain emperor whose only worry in life was to dress in elegant clothes. He changed clothes almost every hour and loved to show them off to his people." And so began "The Emperor's New Clothes" by Hans Christian Andersen, a story that resonates today as the naked truth about man-caused global warming collapses around the United Nations and its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Andersen's story is not much longer than the average newspaper column. It tells of two scoundrels who flattered and conned an emperor out of his money and his dignity. Their plan was all so simple and so outrageous. "We are two very good tailors and after many years of research we have invented an extraordinary method to weave a cloth so light and fine that it looks invisible," one scoundrel said. "As a matter of fact it is invisible to anyone who is too stupid and incompetent to appreciate its quality."
Of course, there was no cloth. But the emperor was afraid to say that because he did not want to appear to be stupid, which ultimately made a fool of him. The story parallels the foolishness of man-caused global warming. The scoundrels in climatology told the politicians, in essence, that it was all science that "is invisible to anyone who is too stupid and incompetent to appreciate its quality."
And so for 20 years now, I have heard from the believers in this junk that it is science and that I am too stupid and incompetent to appreciate its quality. The scoundrels behind man-caused global warming flattered their marks by making them seem to know science.
If you believe in man-caused global warming, then you are smart and scientific.
If not, you are stupid and incompetent.
