Not that I care but I feel I should point out that Hanabusa and Case won a combined 58.4% of the vote.
Djou won because the Democratic Party dropped the ball by not backing a single candidate.
I don't think I'd take this as some sort of mandate sweeping the nation...

Hi TerryRC,
I figured I'd agree with you on this. The Republicans will lose this seat in November, unless there is some more infighting that permanently damages the D's in Hawaii. The combined vote for the D's tells the story, the R's picked up this seat due to an accident of election policy.
I think this will be a "Republican year," but I do not see the thrashing that others do (although I should like to). The Republicans need to get better advisers and start running clear and principled campaigns, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
