I wouldn't do it if I were Shelley Moore Capito...

She is the only Republican that would stand a chance at winning it.

And why not take the gamble, there is no guarantee that she will win the House seat again.

But if she loses she is out for two years with no guarantee of winning her House seat again...

I think she has a good chance of winning

She's a Congressional incumbent, non-Obama supporter, a female, non-Democrat, good name recognition, plenty of Political Ammunition and has or will have plenty of money to support a campaign.

I would support Capito over Manchin, any day.

Stephanie is not a HUGE SMC fan, but I will not only vote for her, I will donate to her candidacy and work off some of my large hind end for her in a Senate race against Joe.

I already owe the board a round of biscuits for Brown's win in Massachusettes, but I wager that Manchin would crush Capito statewide. cultural conservatives are weary of Capito, the good ole boys are with Manchin, as are the libs and union dems. Capito loses by 10.
