Misreading the Tea Party Empty Misreading the Tea Party

Matthews: Tea Party's central belief is "...every man for himself. . . . No more taxes, no more government, no more everything. No more safety net."

"You know these people, if they were every man for himself down in that mine, they wouldn't have gotten out," Matthews added.

"That's exactly right," Trumka chimed in.

Matthews continued: "They would have been killing each other after about two days."

This is emblematic of the stupid shit that passes for journalism these days. Despite the fact that tea parties have been free from violence (save the episode where SEIU thugs in purple shirts beat the living bejesus out of a black man at a tea party meeting), democrat functionaries continue to malign the tea parties.

This is the same thing as accusing the tea parties of racism. Members of the tea parties, while pretty much disorganized, are not the folks who drink the water; they're the people who carry the water. You won't find a lot of chronically unemployed tea partiers. They're the people who do most of the living and the dying and productive activities across the country.

It is the fear that the folks who carry the water are getting organized that drives the liberal elite to the brink of madness.

They know that it is this class of people who, just like during the New Deal, it is this class of individual that is pay for their entitlement programs and they are scared shirtless that if this class becomes organized, liberals are screwed.

The tea party movement has been a breath of fresh air in my opinion. To quote Michael Badinarik, libertarian candidate for President some years ago, "The only difference between Republicans and Democrats is who they let feed at the trough first". No truer statement has ever been spoken. The republican party is a joke in my opinion. All they have become is leftist lite. They offer no real alternative to the gaggle of lefties that now lead this nation. The tea party movement does offer an alternative.
